I would just be happy to get my wife to go camping with me... She has to be in a place with bathrooms... I'm like what's wrong with going commando,out in the middle of nowhere,hunting your meal etc... She thinks I'm nuts...however I ENJOY that insanity....... I tell her it's like this....when your out living like our ancestors did with just the basics it can be a total spiritual experience.... There's nothing like sitting under a full moon,with a fire,and a fresh kill..... MMMMMMMM......MEAT!!!! That's a good point..I recall him mentioning a dinner including salad,so he must get veggies flown in somehow.Can't live off just meat,and be totally healthy.I think he is smart concerning the gun choices...22,scatter gun,and a center fire rifle,but I agree...need at least a couple of each.If I had a choice of one gun it would be the 12 gauge...bird shot for the nutters..00 buck for bear issues,and different barrel for slugs when taking the Caribou... You'd have to hone your stalking skills with a slug gun though,as you'd have to get closer,but I remember playing with slugs,and they're absolutely friggen devastating at 100 yards,and under..... (1760 fps) not a lot of fpe but thats's transfered into a .72 cal hole. Magnum 12ga can really punish the crap out of you and your scope.
