I called local dive shops trying to find one that would fill to 4500psi. I finally found one and after he confirmed, I verified again that they actually do (b/c so many of the shops I called wouldn't). He responded w/yes and said they go as high as 10000psi. What are typical uses of 10000psi?

If it is at a dive shop, I wonder if it would be for a submersible. when we have an air compressor tank that has so many cu/ft and need more ,we bump up the pressure to achieve this. It may well be they do this for longer dive periods. All speculation tho.

I'm going to go with Broom... I was thinking that but figured it wasn't worth the effort to post BS in an actual topic. Look where I'm at now? Rolling Eyes

Submersibles sounds plausible. Would 10K psi still be 10K psi if you put it in a 1 atmosphere submersible at a great depth? I would think so because it is only affected by the relative pressure that directly surrounds it.

10,000 psi is the feed pressure for surface surply mixed gas
systems....ie tri-mix ie ..O2/He/N
when yer on mixed gas its because you are deep usaly 200ft plus
And its amazzing how much line friction you get with high pressure
so the start pressure has to be high..as well as the reduceing volume because of the depth...
