There are almost no test reviews on the web about this PS2 chronograph so I just took a chance and ordered one. Got it today. It has an all plastic housing and uses a 9 volt battery. A three digit red LED display that gives the fourth digit (1000+ft/sec) first, before the last three. The velocity reading stays on for about five seconds before reseting.Weighs about 7 ounces with the battery .
For the velocity test, I compared it with the Chrony F-1, with each shot fired simultaneously over both units. The PS2 is small enough to place on top and between the screens of the Chrony. My test gun is a P3 air pistol.

So far so good. I'll have to see how long it'll last. My Chrony is nearly 15 years old. They say that this PS2 model is made in the USA with quality components and it is on sale now for about half MSRP.

Now that you've had it for a month, how do you like it? Is it holding up well? Still accurate?

It is still working TJ . I've heard the China made ones quit working after a short time. I have only my old Chrony to compare accuracy with and since the readings are close to each other, I can't complain. I like the built in infrared light screens that make it more easier to use than my Chrony. Just have to be careful not to blast it to pieces with an errant shot. Maybe I will put a sheet metal faceplate or something on it.

What does one cost, normally and "on sale"?

Also- do you need to shoot down the center of the "U", or over the top of it?

What is stopping muzzle blast from affecting the results? The muzzle is essentially attached to the PS2, and on any chrony that is too close to a muzzle that is ejecting something other than the projectile- let's suggest a Co2 gun, spewing Co2 out the muzzle, tends to cause inaccurate (often on the side of too-high) readings. Has this been an issue with this unit that anyone is aware of?

It does seem to have a real paintball sort-of bend to the webpage, doesn't it? Was the prior, offshore version intended mainly for that market?

Eric, the PS2 unit does not attach to the muzzle of the guns, it just has a v shaped provision to prop the muzzle against the unit for handheld use or to keep the muzzle from slipping away for a rifle. You can shoot through it from a further distance back in the case of firearms or CO2 airguns. The opening starts looking small at a few paces back, so it may need an aligning rig to give yourself a clean shot through it.
On another airgun forum, someone called the earlier made PS1 a "piece of junk and then some". I hope this new one is better than that..............................................................

Still working. I did put a crack on the front of it when I tried to chrono a cheap GAT type air pistol. The recoil caused the barrel to move upward sending the pellet into the top of the chrono.

Noticed something. When I use LED light bulbs over the chrono, it gives erratic readings, or will not work. When I turn the light off, and shoot through it, it will give a good velocity reading. I suppose the LED light is going at some frequency that is detectable by the chrono. The chrono uses it's own light source, my room lighting fixture just happens to be near it.

Still working, but erratically. Sometimes will not get into the ready mode "F".
Have to turn it off and on several times.

Just to update this post. The thing finally stopped working. My Chrony F1 also stopped working too. So, I will buy a new Chrony F1.
