My indoor shooting range contains the noise of my airguns fairly well so as to not bother the neighbors. But my grandma's room is just above my shooting spot and the sound of my airguns can be heard through her floor. Having completed a home renovation project, I had some materials left over to make a noise reducing box about 14"Wx18"Hx4'L . I used 3" acoustic wedge foam to line the inside. Shooting my Excaliber PCP through it did show that the box worked in reducing the noise from a crack to a thud.
Added 7/14/2010:
Sorry to say that this box will not quiet a loud spring airgun. I tried it. PCP and CO2 guns only.

Looks good. Many people have made similar things like these, but by far yours is the best looking.
Probably uses the best materials for the job, too. |
