| On my Crosman Storm xt I just noticed the screw holding the trigger guard is stripped and can not be tightened. What are the consequences of this screw being loose? |

| Is it the front towards barrel or the back towards the stock? |

Front between the trigger and the muzzle. |

From the parts diagram, it looks like that screw does nothing more than secure the trigger guard to the stock. It's the rear screw that holds the trigger guard, compression tube, and stock together. The consequences? Probably nothing relating to the function of the gun. Maybe if you catch it on something the trigger guard could bend or break, but the gun will still shoot.
The fix could be as simple as dropping a couple pieces of toothpicks in the hole to give the screw some grip. Or, you could put in a machine screw anchor and replace the screw.
My own personal quirk is that I hate wood screws on guns, precisely because they do strip. So, I have replaced them all with machine screws and anchors. |
