Today I made one it one step closer to being able to play with my discovery. Picked up a scuba tank off a craigslist sale for $50. Now all I need is a yoke and I'm good to go.
Right now, my basement is packed full of stuff for an estate sale. Once the sale is over in another week or two...tops. I'm going to be in a state of limbo, while I search for another place to live and work.
This will give me some time to get my scope sited in on my discover. I know in the future I want to do some modifications on my discovery and these will have a direct effect on what or where my zero will be. As of right now it's stock. What would be a good zero for it?
Next, my basement is only 50 feet long. Granted, I'll need space for a chair, table, target, but that's nominal. At this close of range I would assume if I have the scope centered on the target, how high should the pellet groups land?
Thanks,
Jax |

50 ft isn't too bad a distance for a basement. I got, maybe 45ft but can't use it all unless I want to let concrete scratche me up and a water pipe hit me.
You might go to this site : http://www.kermitairgunclub.com/targets/ and download the Scope Site-In Target. . . Using a Quarter-Inch Grid, it shows 10 clicks at 10yds
Tom Gaylord as a pretty simple "scope" setup, here is the "chopped and channeled" version :
How to sight-in a scoped air rifle
By Tom Gaylord
1. Start with a scoped rifle.
2. Place a target in a safe backstop ten feet away.
3. Wear safety glasses because high-speed pellet fragments, this close to the backstop, will hit you.
4. Aim the scope at the center of a small black dot, one-quarter to one-half inch in diameter. The target paper should be at least nine inches tall and five inches wide, with the dot as close to the center as possible. The dot will be blurry in the scope. If the scope is adjustable, use the lowest scope power setting.
When you shoot, your goal is to have the pellet strike the paper in line with the center of the dot and as far below the center as the center of the scope is separated from the center of the barrel. In other words, if the center of the scope is 2-3/4 inches above the center of the barrel, which is approximately how far below the aim points you want the pellet to strike the paper.
5. Adjust the scope until you get the pellet striking where you want it, then move the target out to 10 yards and shoot again. The pellet should now strike in line and approximately one inch below the center of the dot.
If not, adjust the scope until it is. Once it is striking there, you are sighted-in for distances approximately 20 to 30 yards away. Closer or further and the pellet will land below the aim point.
Hope this helps you. |

I already have targets, but thanks for the link anyways.
How would I about including a laser bore site with this. Should the laser dot be 1" below the target with the cross hairs of the scope centered on the target? |

Should see this one property I'm particularly interested in. It's been on the market for over a year now. Like many homes, it's probably not selling because there's so many properties out there to choose from.
This "farmette", is on 12acers of land and has a full sized barn! I think that'd be a nice place for an indoor range in the winter!
Crossing my fingers I make enough on the estate sale so as I can make a decent bid on it. |

For your Disco, assuming ~830 fps.... If you sight in at 13.6 yards (41'), you will be about 0.5" low at 8 yards, 0.5" high at 27 yards and 0.5" low at 44 yards with decent round nose pellets.... I'd set it up that way and then fine tune it outside if you need to.... plenty close enough for most use.... a point blank range of 8 to 44 yards on a 1" kill zone....

Thanks for that infor bob! That's exactilly what I was looking for.
Just curious. Your disco, with all the mods you made, excluding the upgrade to .25 cal., How much further were you able to push the zero out? |

I don't tend to zero all that far away.... I usually go for a 1/2" KZ.... I just sighted in my 2260 PCP today.... It's 1/4" low at 13 yds, dead on at 17 yds, 1/4" high at 27 yds, zero again at 37 yds, and 1/4" low at 41 yards, and just over 1" low at 50 yards.... Thats at 35 FPE (939 fps with 18 gr. JSB Heavy pellets)....
From what I've learned about how BCs drop as you push the pellets too fast.... I now up the pellet weight to keep the velocity from exceeding 900-950 fps.... With 14.3 gr. pellets, I wouldn't go above 850-900.... you just lose too much velocity/energy in the first 5 yards if you do.... What I'm saying is that when you get your Disco up to the 30 FPE range you should be using 16-18 gr. pellets.... If you get to the 35 FPE area, then you should be shooting 18-21 gr. pellets.... That will mean your trajectory won't be much flatter, you'll just be chucking heavier pellets at about the same velocity.... The heavier pellets will buck the wind better and keep their velocity/energy better at longer ranges though so you still win....
