From what I've seen, there are two popular Leapers mounts for compensating for droop on RWS rifles, one for the breakbarrels, and one for the side/undelever rifles. However, I've read that the mount for breakbarrels over compensates for droop on the 350. I noticed in this picture (http://www.straightshooters.com/Leapers/droopcompensationmounts.html) that the one for breakbarrels appear to compensate 20.7" (at some distance), while the other compensates 17.1". I was wondering if anyone used the version for side/underlever rifles on the 350?

If you note: even Umarex, who sells the RWS line, got rid of any mention of "droop compensator" from its mounts. Why? It didn't accomplish anything they wanted to stand behind. All breakbarrels have some amount of droop.

And- to throw this in- why would a side lever with a fixed barrel need to have a scope compensated? Either it doesn't have droop, or the droop is engineered for a reason- i.e. to help account for pellet rise immediately upon leaving the barrel.

A "droop compensator" also will have no good effect on a rifle that can be sighted in properly with the scope to be used on it- it will only cause more issues.

Are you having problems with elevation adjustment with one of your rifles and scope? Try shimming the mount instead of throwing good money away on a "dedicated" mount for such.

Thanks for the info. Actually, I'm still biting my nails waiting for cabelas to get the 350 in stock...been on backorder for a month now (they had it on sale, or else I'd just pick it up elsewhere). I was under the impression after reading on this forum and watching some videos that without a droop compensator you may end up using all elevation adjustment on the scope to get on target. I just watched a video of Tom Gaylord where he specifically mentions RWS rifles, their droop, and the Leapers compensator mount.

I do agree that there seems no reason why a fixed barrel would have droop, and to that end even why a break would have to...seems like it shouldn't be too difficult to make a breakbarrel that closes up in line with the mount.

Not that I have money to burn, but unless I can shim it (thanks for the tip btw) w/o it looking crappy, I'd likely be willing to blow $15 on a mount tailor made for the purpose. I'm just not sure what mount that would be for the 350; which apparently has less droop than the other RWS breakbarrels.

Tom Gaylord is essentially an employee of PyramydAir- and if you notice, the last couple of years has only 'reviewed' and talked about products Pyramyd carries. I'm not saying that makes him completely biased, but, in my opinion anyways, his leanings seem to tend to be towards what Pyramyd desires them to be.
