Interesting!
I think that pilot must have been on the original 1955 flight team, however.
Not my cup of tea, I would've hurled halfway up I think. |

That was originally made by the BBC and shown earlier this year on UK TV, but it always seems to amaze me at the 1950s technology, bigger strides seem to have been made then than now, it all came to an end with the moon landings which in my opinion nothing since then as come anyway near making the same impact.
Who remembers sitting up watching the first landing?
Great stuff.

I remember the first moon landing.... the anticipation.... listening to the voices coming live from the moon.... WOW !!!
also the first photos of Neil Armstrong stepping off the LEM.... double WOW !!!
If I won a BIG lottery there are a few things I would blow money on.... #1 - go to Russia and take a ride in a MIG-25 Foxbat ($50,000) - Mach 3 to the edge of space.... black above, blue below and a view of the Earth's curvature.... #2 - sign up for Virgin's sub-orbital spaceflight ($200,000?) when it's available.... higher and faster and weightlessness as well....
You get crazy when you get older....
