THIS IS A FORTNIGHTLY TARGET, SHOOT ANY TIME IN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS

1) Target to download and print: Fortnight 96; Oct 5 > Oct 18/2009

1)Print to full-size on an A4 or 8.5"x11" sheet of paper.
2) Shooting distance is 5m/16.4ft for pistols.
3) Shooting distance is 10m/32.8ft for rifles.
3a) The rules for shooting 5m or 10 m are that the distance from the target to the firing line should be 10m for rifle and 5m for pistol.
All shots, from whatever shooting position must be made with the competitor wholly behind the firing line but able to touch it.
Basically the shooter should be behind the line but the part of the gun not being held by the shooter can protrude past the line.
4) All targets to be shot standing
5) Any sighting device may be used.
6) NO rests or steadying aids are allowed.
7) 16 shots total, 1 per target maximum. Up to 5 sighting/practice shots not on the clock using the Green
8) 15 minutes total time (take whatever amount of time for each shot you like, but at 15 minutes-stop!).
9) Scoring is 10 for Red Spot and 5 for Black Square none for White. Only one hit per target counts. Maximum point count is 160.
10) Entries need to be scanned or photographed and posted. Please list gun, pellet, sighting device and total time expended.
11) You can enter using both a pistol and a rifle as separate entries, only one entry for each, but all rules must be followed.
12) Score your own target. Winner and Runner-Up will be verified by board officials.
13) An honourable contest for sport- to lie or cheat, is the only real loser. Please keep it above-board!
14) Each competition runs for 2 weeks. Your entry must be posted in the forum no later than 23:00 GMT on the last Sunday.
15) These rules are for this week's shooting competition and may change for others

Please make sure that the blue border is visible on your entry, plus the green dot is 12mm diameter on A4 paper.

Just kidding Al, this one is a challenge off hand using open sights

Was so shocked I taped the target upside down to my backstop *grin*

Did make one stupid mistake, cocked the pistol full power every single shot (harsh trigger) and remembered afterwards cocking economy mode (100fps) results in a hair trigger... Shot another match for another ag board resulting in 141/150.

I am new to this forum, and this is my first attempt at one of these targets. Great idea to have some competitive fun through the forum.......

Hi Rob welcome to AirGunHome target shooting, the target isn’t the easiest but they do change. I find that the Winchester is a nice gun for 10m target shooting, easy to shoot and light.

or, more appropriately, a pfffft...

the winchester (walther? umarex?) is a lot of fun to shoot. I can keep it to about a quarter at 10m, but i'm only half way through my first tin of pellets and they're what walmart had in stock for wadcutters (daisy). After this tin, i figure i'll be consistent enough to try a sample pack (which i have other questions for another thread when i get there..)

and, yeah, can you make the target a bit more visible for the next few. this one was almost a confidence buster, if it werent for the two that were right through the center of the black squares...

I went for the dot on a few, the square on most. Aimed in between a couple of times.

Shot both pistol and rifle. Pistol first (and was the higher score)
gun: 2300 w/2-7 BSA Pistol Scope
Pellet: Gamo Match Wad .177
Dist/Pos: 5m / Standing / 2 Hand
Score 70
Time < 6 Min (I wonder how much better or worse I would do if I slowed dowm?)

Rifle shoot was to keep jgoodz420 company. Not a condor but a short framed talon with a 12 in barrel run on CO2 (here after known as shorty) don't have a good pic yet but its the one on the bottom:

Score was a 65 (with a few so close I prob shouldn't have taken them.

Difficult target this week, but we did get a few more entries so some thing must be right.

Ok then! Bean shot two targets this week pistol and rifle, so we take the highest score and discount the other. ( Because we group pistol and rifle together only the highest score counts )

So Bean is the winner with 70/160
And Alstone (me) Smile

is the runner up with 60/160

Well done everyone, and I think we will have a change of target type next week

BTW Brutuz I got it to 35.
