I just bought my son a crosman 760 and I would like to find out if anybody has lightened the pumping action on it. He's outgrown his daisy to the point that he hates it because he is more accurate than the red ryder that the 760 is replacing. He can shoot one of mine for a shot or two but then they become too heavy for him. The 760 is a great little gun for him, but it's a b!tch to pump up. It's hard for me to pump it up to 10! I feel like I am going to break it. Does it get easier to pump up as it breaks in, or am I just stuck with a rifle my boy can't shoot without me pumping it up for him? HELP!!!

Modifications (like maybe a flat-topped piston) would probably cost more than the gun.

Try shooting groups at different power levels to see what gives the best accuracy. Hopefully you'll find a combination of accuracy and fewer pumps.
