Took me 3 days but its finally done.
Came out better then expected.
I`m diggin it,hope you like it too.
Here is the process and finished rifle.
The painting
The drying of the protective finish
The finished Quest.
In case anyone is wondering,I used Krylon camo spray (green,tan,brown,and black) and semi gloss polyurethane protective spray to seal it in.
I was scared sh*tless to attempt this.
I probably would have messed it up if not for my wife helping me every step of the way.She did most of the spraying actually.
I just need at put a muzzle break on it and my project is done.
Im looking into muzzle breaks for the quest 800 but now much info online about um. |

if you did use it..... an oil based polyurethane is a great topcoat. 
i like satin finish myself. looks good! |

Yes it was a oil based urethane spray.
I need to look in the garage and see what brand.
It was like $9.
They had matt,semi gloss ,and gloss.
I went for the semi gloss and glad I did.
Many people like the Matt,but the semi gloss makes it look like a new rifle. |

I must admit I'm not a big fan of using Camo on a gun, but you have achieved a very professional job there.

When I did my superstreak stock with spray paint I didn't use a top coat.
The paint has stayed on perfectly, even with less than good handling and sweat from my body. |

If you sand down your stock you can probably get away with not putting a protective coat.
But I didnt sand down the finish off the stock wood quest.
So if I didn`t put that protective layer (and a lot of it) it would eventually peel off im guessing. |

Hmm... I did sand off the old finish.
But since the one that I camo'd had a split in it, I just fixed the split and got a warranty replacement that I can use for looking good. |

I has the sig already made with the stock quest
I took a pic of the stock after I painted it,and cut it out and added it over my quest pic in my sig.
(Here is the pic I used to cut out the camo)
