the paranoia that exists now amongst legislative bodies, about firearms is, quite frankly, beyond belief.
here in the "sunshine" state, it's absolutely incredible at how much ludicrous legislation is introduced each and every session. one example that was intoduced was that firearms and ammo should be stored in separate structure and be securely locked and be permitted to do so with annual inspections and renewal fees.
here, in the PRK (Peoples Republik of Kaliphornia) airguns and archery are all under the same laws (for the biggest part) firearms are.
never, ever, trust a legislator to do "what is right" when it comes to the shooting sports. keep them under close scrutiny; especially those who are continuiously introducing "anti" legislation. |

| briefly reading the article it seems they arent really doing anything new in fact most states (especially in arizona) have laws that restrict where you may discharge your firearm. In fact there was a case here several years ago where a young girl was killed because some idiot fired a gun into the air near where she lived and it ended up killing her. Because of that incident you cannot discharge near homes or within a quarter mile of a roadway. And its not like they can get u in the woods for something; just make sure u find a dead squirrel and have it next to u so if a ranger asks u...just tell him u were hunting squirrels. Besides; most forest service personnel arent going to harass u too much as long as ur being civil about it. |

HAHA, here in NJ they would haul me out of the woods in handcuffs. Helicopters overhead, my pants around my ankles, no shirt. Headline reads "Madman murdering harmless squirrels with guns"...
These laws are only in place to prevent stupid people from dieing.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.” - C. S. Lewis, God in the Dock |
