Chipmunks have been running WILD here- picked up TF-89 .22 been sorting out the trigger adjustments- DIALED in now! 1-3 pics from 45 yds out window- 4&5 25 yds-driveway.They love the cracked corn I put out for my chickens.CROWS are next!!

good shootin' steve!! my only gripe with that gun is the trigger. you KNOW they can do a better job with it and just don't.  |

I hear ya- just trying to do everything I can to bring out the best-chipmunk @ 45 is CRAZY! wonder what I could do if trigger was exactly right-was unit armoror in my infantry unit in late 70's- just trying to gain more knowledge on these triggers- and trying to fine tune - got schematics on polishing sear- just nervous about f***ing up brand new piece that is shooting great groups- need more feedback on this one-waiting to see if breakin period helps- still haven't gone through 500 rds yet- will get to 1000 before attempting polish job- screwed with adjustments today and made huge difference Had to tighen front screw 1 turn(1st stage) loosen 2nd screw 1 1/2 turns& back off 3rd screw(the bigger one@ rear of trigger several turns(controls spring tension) Got to~ 3 lbs.pressure with crisp break- still dragging in 1st stage a bit. Keep shooting- but runnin low on Alvin& friends

| the rifle will really smooth out after 1000-1500 shots. the break in period on the 89 is a real b!tch. it will get easier to cock. |

wearing out the chipmunks-US-18 them-1/2 lb. cracked corn- now invaded by Jays( have seen them scramble,evict Robin nest, kill young,consider them PESTS)All from 40Yds. Next the Tree Rats!!!

| in reply, I might not be within the letter of the LAW- but a screetching, Sqwacking JAYS that I have personally seen killing baby robins and finches is not my idea of a songbird- I feed wild turkeys, finches, orioles, cardinals, etc. and would never consider SHOOTING one. But yes, I'm sure that an overzealous warden might take the time to query the forum, chase down IP addresses and come bust my a$$- if not overburdened with chasing down deer poachers( whom I have witnessed shooting 7 deer, at night, under spotlights<whom I turned in. |
