Just curious, Me and my sons go out to the pond sometimes and gig for frogs ( mmmm Frog Legs )... Just wondering if anyone has ever use an air rifle of them? I think it would be fun to walk the bank slowly picking off frogs.

( remember I eat them, so its not just random killing...And the rest is used for bait in my turtle traps! )

My B-3's main food source. Third favorite kill was with a cousin. he had a gig, I had the B3. We lighted the eyes and snuck around. I got a crosman cheap whateve from walmart in his head and out his mouth, then cousin got the 4 prong gig in is back. Big Flashlight with focus ring (6D maglite) and an IR. But even with a headshot it still may hop in the water.

Back in the 70's I did a lot of frog shooting. Was stationed on a Navy Ammunition base in Mcalester, OK. Also served as a Federal Game
Reserve. Had over 150 good sized ponds on it and one fairly large
lake. The fishing was great.
Anyhow, I found that if you shoot the frog from the side, just behind
the eye, they don't even move. It looks for an instant like they may
just jump into the water, but then they just settle back, dead.
