Im sitting outside this morning after posting the post about the feeder raider shooting cans. I am just about ready to put a hurtin on my daughters half finished pepsi from last night when this little guy comes into my field of sight. HMmmmmmm what to do what to do. Although the squirrel isnt actually doing anything pest like i KNOW for a fact that if my feeder was still up he would be all over it. So to fix the problem before it becomes a problem i took him out |

| BTW I'm not afraid to touch the squirrel, I'm just allergic to fleas XD. My daughter thought it was so cool to take a picture of Dad and his squirrel until she realized "He's going to eat him" lol |

| It is a Crosman Storm XT. It is an ok air rifle but I've noticed recently that it wont hold a zero for very long and it isn't quite as powerful as I would like. I got my 2240s friday and I'm lookin into what i can do to make them powerful enough to get these little critters with. Im also really considering buying this Walther Talon Magnum sometime in the next 2 weeks. |

Out of the box the 22xx with take squirrel up to 35 yards.
First thing I suggest you do is remove and clean the barrel from each of them, and then put on an aftermarket breach. Then you can polish the trigger unit, polish the main tube, hammer, lube it all.
Keep one separate from the other, and mod the one by itself. That way you can determine how effective it was. |

| Ah, the Minority Report way of pest control. You kill them before they become a pest, because you know they'd eventually be a pest any way. |

| I dont have a range finder so I'm not really sure but being an ex football player i estimate the distance at about 20-25 yards. I'd have to walk it off to be sure. Im using crosman premier hollows but after retrieving the pellet from this particular squirrel I'm thinking about switching to something else. I will post a picture of the actual pellet in a second. |

Don't worry about it if the pellet didn't expand. A dead critter is a dead critter. And CPH have EXCELLENT ballistic properties, not to mention being fairly inexpensive as far as .22 pellets go (for their accuracy and availability).
If you want a total fu__ sh__ up pellet, the Predator line will do the job. Those things act like an atomic bomb inside a critters' head. The polymer tip penetrates further, but tumbles and causes internal bleeding (if it's not dead by then), and the hollowpoint is thin enough to mushroom perfectly. Maybe even petals of the mushroom will break off and tumble around on their own.
Dead critter.
Predators are expensive though. |

| Actually I won't be posting the picture of the actual pellet because my camera will not focus on something that small |

I have been hearing a lot about these predator pellets but I cant get any until pyramyd gets them back in stock. I'm going to order a sh*t load of them when they finally get them again. The CPH has been doing pretty good for me today is actually the first day I've recovered one from a critter. It entered behind the shoulder and lodged behind the opposite shoulder effectively destroying the critters vitals. But when i pulled it out the pellet was flat long ways |

| Well that is a possibility or maybe a probability who knows....... So about these 2240s you say they can take squirrels out to 35 yards out of the box??? They are only rated at 460 fps I think so wit 14.3 gr pellest thats only 6.7fpe. You also have to factor in that the pellet probably wont go 460 fps so Im not really comfortable with those numbers right now. |
