The cx4 ran out of co2, so I switched over to "old faithful", my Hamerli Storm .22. I'm using pointed pellets with her because crow mags and flatter nosed pellets make a gunshot like sound upon impact. However pointed pellets quieter, eventhough they go straight through every time, and then some.
Yesterday I came home and saw two birds out there right next to each other feeding. The problem was that my garden hose was right in between them. Just when I'd line up the crosshairs on one with the other behind it, the hose was right in the middle. And I don't want to shoot my hose. So much for a one shot two kill scenario.
I waited and was going to aim above the hose, but the birds started to move apart. So I just aimed at one and took him down and the other flew off. Fortunately though, the other came back about 30 minutes later and I got him with my 5g pistol. Just goes to show that good judgment and patience will prevail in the end when hunting. |
