Can gas spring guns be tuned? Since the major part of a tune is the spring and reducing vibration, I would say no, but wanted some opinions anyway.
Thanks |

Polish the muzzle crown, polish the breech crown, lap the bore, choke the bore, add a brake, adjust the brake, sheath the barrel, shorten the b arrel, remove play in the barrel pivot, improve barrel lock-up, correct breech seal fit, stone the trigger, shim the trigger, upgrade the trigger, etc. And I haven't even gotten to the stock or optics.
Anything can be made better. |

the beeman RX-1 is a fine rifle as i got it "from the box". it's heavy in the hand and makes a different report when discharged but is a very hard hitting and accurate air rifle.
one of the greatest advantages of the RX and similar rifles is the ability to adjust pressures via hand pump.
some increases in performance are very costly in terms of time, labor and cost in relation to the gain. there's much to be done but one has to reason it out in terms of will the gain be worth the effort/cost.
as an example, i did a 'build' on an QB78. the most gain i got was from doing a 'valve job' and the cost of the gain was it uses 20-30% more gas per shot. |
