So I see two birds out in the side yard. I grab the 5G pistol, load a rocket, and take aim at the bigger bird. It was a 7 yard shot, but the bird was moving.I took aim and let it walk into my target zone. I landed a solid hit, but it managed to flutter up on the roof out of view.

I waited a moment and casually strolled out front holding my house phone as a prop. Sure enough, the bird was visibly wounded and laying on my roof with its buddy by its side. Well, they wanted no part of me and promptly flew off over to the nieghbors yard. I could see the bird was badly injured, and it flew up in the tree and immediately sputtered downward to, you guessed it, MY NEIGHBORS FRONT PORCH! AND MY NEIGHBOR WAS HOME!

Fortunately, nobody was outside, so I carefully, and boldly, approached their front door step. The bird mustered its last bit of strength and flew off down the street. But it flew straight for 100 yards only to crash land in the middle of a 5 lane busy street! In plain view but far away, I watched helplessly as a dozen cars ran over it before I could even get to it!

But when I got up to it, I saw it had not been crushed. The cars somehow passed over it. Enraged by the absurdity of the situation, I used the butt of the only gun on me, my phone, to crack it on the head since it was still alive. Amazingly, not a single car or person was around while this was going on....with the exception of a crazy homeless man who was walking on the other side of the street talking to himself. I'm sure my activities seemed normal in his mind though.

Anyhow, I picked up the damn bird and walked it home through my back alley. The shot was dead center in it's back, but just a half inch too low. It was mortally wounded no doubt, but it somehow mustered its last strength to fly to THE most inconvenient places it could get to. But I still got my kill in the end.

Hunting is the practice of pursuing living animals (usually wildlife) for food, recreation, or trade.
Hunting can also involve the elimination of vermin, as a means of pest control, if not the species can over populate causing disease

I didn't shoot any birds in my front yard. Did I also fail to mention that I intend on eating my kill.

if Roger calls it hunting, then its hunting to him. if i recall he actually cleans and eats what he kills. i dont see the issue, whats wrong with posting threads about his kills? afterall, this is an airgun forum, in the "Hunting, Pest Control, Vaminting" section, not a VHS vs. Beta forum... hes posting in the right area i say.

Does hunting in your back yard make it more hunting or less hunting?

where the hell do you get off putting people down Question

3 good dogs a pig and a 11" knive....Tats hunting....
But for air guns.....This is for me because I have the places to hunt...
And I could add another 20 pics.....Poping birds in my backyard is fun..
but if some people call it hunting because of where they live dosn't give them any other options....Who the hell are you to put them down for making the best of what they have....Go back to yer knitting...

I don't care if people consider it hunting or not. To me, it's shooting my pellet guns for fun and getting free food out of it.

Sure, I'd like to have the romance and freedom of walking out into some vast 500 acre hunting ground, stalk a moose in my ghillie suit for days, then wait for a clean 100 yard shot right between its eyes. Then I could talk about my "hunt" in fullest sense of the word. Then maybe it'd be enough to impress the socks off of lauchlin and gain his approval.
