It is from my old Crosman 2240 with the shoulder stock & barrel of my leaking 2289g.
It is not pretty Embarassed but
It has good power and very accurate Twisted Evil
with the Bushnell sportview 2-7x20mm 72-3720
and trust me the mounts are well glued to the barrel.
And got it to shoot just under500fps by turning the hammer spring tension down
according to this tread:

Doesn't look much uglier than most 2240 "conversions"- especially so as you didn't use any custom parts- just bits from another Crosman!

How tough to use is it with that scope right above the loading port?

There is no problem loading the pellets
but I need a longer neck to look in the scope. Laughing
I am not going to use that gun very often away and I am not too crazy about co2 air guns in general.
Springers and single pumpers are my favorites.

I haven't seen an ugly 2240 yet...but then I haven't customized one yet. Smile

I'm waiting for a barrel and steel breech, already smooth out my trigger, made an abs trigger shoe while making one out of real steel. As of now I can put 3 shots touching one another from 20 ft. did it tonight. Awesome power that 2240. Very Happy

Each target were shoot with 5 Premiere Hollow Point pellets.
On the left the cat food can cover was shoot at 36 feet in a sitting position.
On right the cover of the froozen juice can at 30 feet in a standing braced position..

If you cut a piece of normal foam plumbing pipe insulation and wrap around upper bar of stock secure it with wire zip ties makes a dandy cheekpiece for your scope. Not pretty but it works.

Hi Rene
I have done a bit of experimenting with hammer springs on my Rohm, I installed a screw adjuster in the grip, I know it's not a 2240 but what I found out is that, if the temperature is high (warm Co2) a heavy spring gives higher power, but as the tempreature falls or the Co2 is running out the fps drops by about 50fps, if I then slacken off the spring tension the fps rises back to where it was before.

Another way of seeing this effect is to shoot each shot using single action, and when the fps drops off switch to double action, on most guns this results in a lower spring pressure, and consequently the fps rises.

This only seems to work when there in a big tempreature drop, or the Co2 is getting low.

Whether this applies to the 2240 I don't know, but it's worth thinking about.

Al
