Igot ahold of my disco stock with some paint stripper. I found out under all that fake walnut stain paint stuff, it's... walnut! Whoda guessed? I stripped it completely down to bare wood and gave it a coat of satin rubbed poly.
I think it looks 100% better. What do you think?

Yup, that looks better.
American manufacturers have a different philosophy regarding the use of walnut compared to their European counterparts ; I have never really understood why.
Check out the article in the February 2009 edition of Outdoor Life Magazine: The Benjamin Discovery was rated higher than the RWS 54, Gamo Hunter Extreme, and the Beeman R9.

Over here it isn't. But that's probably because they're a hundred dollars more expensive because of importing. 
I kind of like the Disco, but I got to say that I don't really like the shape of the stock. |

| I'm with Broom regarding the stock's lines, but you sure improved the look of the wood. Nice job. |

| Shot a Disco again today, and dang it, it's fun, but that stock is a pain in the a$$, way to thin, doesn't fit nicely... |
