Scruffie sent me some Disco parts to play with, and I made him up a velocity adjuster and de-gassing tool that will work with it.... Cool

Pretty simple for any of you with access to a lathe.... Rolling Eyes

Drill & tap the Crosman rear plug (Part # 1761-012) to 3/8"-16 NC....
Turn down a 1-1/4" long 3/8"-16 NC socket-head SS set-screw for a spring seat and to clear the mounting screws for the rear plug....
Drill & tap the set-screw to 10-32 (I counterbored it from the front end to reduce the threaded length inside to only 3/8")....
Remove the threads from half of a 3-1/2" length of 10-32 threaded rod, and put a knob on the end....

This should allow you to adjust the velocity and shape of the shot string over quite a large range.... you can also change out hammer springs without stripping the back of the gun.... A 3/16" allen key will still fit fine in the end of the set-screw for adjusting it.... The lock nut is a SS 3/8"-16 NC "jam" nut.... The knob for the de-gasser is made from a 1/8" pipe plug.... To use the de-gassing tool, make sure the hammer is forward, then insert the rod into the set-screw and thread it in until it rests against the inside of the hammer.... Turn it in slowly until the air (or CO2) inside the main tube is vented through the transfer port and barrel.... Wink

Thanks, Scruffie, for the loan of the parts.... wish I had taken you up on the loan of the Disco.... Mr. Green.... Let us know how it works out.... Wink

Now if I just had a PCP pump for my next project....

Bob

Looks pretty kool...nothing better than realy playing with things.
Ok how dose it work I have no idea how a disco works.
I asume it restricts the hammer travel?

The adjuster works by changing the preload on the hammer spring....

The de-gasser pushes the hammer forward to open the valve and let the air / CO2 out if you need to.... You can't have the de-gasser in place when using the gun....
