The instructions look pretty complete.
It is also interesting to note that the author assembles the gun with a greased cloth wrapped around the spring to eliminate twang. |

No kidding Broom! That's pretty crazy. I feel for the next person
that disassembles it. That rag would ruin consistency. Someone
should introduce that guy to spring tars.
Another thing. When removing the trigger group, remove the
back pin first. Then, while holding the safety, pull the trigger
group out at the back just enough to release the safety, pull
the safety and the safety spring out. Then remove the front pin.
That way you don't have to go through the taping the bag thing.
It's the same for R9s, R11s and b26/-2s, except that the square
end plug retainers are round and there are only two. |

when i found it at my Dad's house , i ended up takeing it aprt cleaned and installed new seals i made with a custom spring, lube the crap out of it and re installed it, it did have this like hemp fabric thing around it just like the dish cloth thing buddy sugesting, ended up not puting it back in but did use some shims, that cloth could be slowing the spring and slowing the piston makeing it slower for the pellet to come out, or could be not lubed or crapy pellets being used.
Could be a number of things but i would sugest taking it off and see were that goes. for the twang of the spring, lub the crap out of it with some tar or molly lube |

In my opinion, and after seeing several tunes done to my airguns, the only thing that will help is tight fitting spring guides made out of Delrin AND a good lubing.
A piece of cloth wrapped around your spring makes about as much sense as shooting nails with your airgun. They're bound to end up in your compression chamber one day, doing more wrong then good. |

I would be surprised if the cloth did not eventually tear,
disintigrate and maybe bind to some degree. In any event,
it's a very poor way to dampen spring vibration.
Derlin or steel are the best materials for spring guides.
When a spring is compressed, it's diameter becomes larger.
You want the spring guide to have very tight fit in the spring.
Tight enough that it is very hard to push the guide into the
spring. When the gun is cocked, the spring is compressed and
the coils are enlarged. When the gun is shot, the spring
decompresses, the coil diameters shrink, contact and grab the
spring guide and stop the spring from resonating (vibrating/
twanging). |

You can also make a top-hat and springuide which already have a little bit of preload. In this case, you don't need washers to do the job. It's best to not do this with a high powered airgun, but on most 6-9 Fpe springers it wouldn't cause much trouble. |
