I say "plunking" because I am shooting at a plastic water bottle on a stick in the back yard, and it makes a "plunk" sound.
I went out this morning and shot 36 shots on a fresh powerlet. It was about 55-60 degrees and overcast.
I went out this afternoon, it's sunny and about 77. I shot another 36 shots on the same powerlet.
I noticed the power decrease at about shot # 66. The last six shots were definitely lower in velocity and dropping quite a bit.
I was waiting about 10-20 seconds between shots, occasionally 30 or more seconds while I went to reset the target or had to reload the clip.
I figure this must be a world record for how long a powerlet lasts in a 1077. |

| If not a world record, gotta be close. 30 or so decent shots out of a 12g caplet on a slightly modified 1077 at 80* ambient temperatures is not uncommon, most bone-stock 1077s will get maybe 40-50 shots at 70*. Of course, most people don't wait 20 seconds between shots either- so that probably helped a fair bit. |
