I've searched online and can't seem to get a detailed enough picture to tell, so I gotta ask the question.
If you buy a new Crosman 1377 pump pistol does the breech that comes on the gun have dovetails cut into them for mounting a scope and is it made out of plastic or steel?
Thanks |

| No you have to get the Crosman clamp-on dovetails or I believe you can order a steel receiver like you can for a 2240 (I don't know for sure or if it's the same one.) |

They come in plastic with no dovetails...
Nope... Different Bolt & Part #...
Don't waste your time with the clamp ons... They move too much to maintain a decent POI...

You can use the 2240 steel breech kit if you want to change to a .22 caliber barrel. As Joe had mentioned the bolt won't work with a .177 barrel. The actual steel breech is the same piece from Crosman for .177 or .22 caliber, but a different bolt to match the barrel size comes with it. |

+1. I have two CB breeches and two bolts, one for .177, and one for .22.
They are interchangeable. |

| What I ment... is if you are buying it in a "Kit" you need to specify .177 or .22... Yes the breech it self is the same... |

Got to disagree on the clamp-on dove tails, set up right they work fine I've had no trouble with mine.

Only if you Loctite them...
Might work fine with a red dot or a compact scope...
You can't beat the dovetails on the steel breech for a larger scope... Plus you can float the barrel... |

I just read on the Mexican forum (mexicoarmado) where a guy bought a smoothbore 1377 (blister pack). He exchanged it for a rifled 1377.
Is this something new, or just an anomaly? |

Never heard of it before and Crosman lists the 1377 as a rifled barrel: http://www.crosman.com/site/listing/1035
So either our Mexican friend was mistaken, he got a defective unit, or someone in Mexico is copying Crosman product (i.e. like the Chinese and their Bushnell and BSA copies).
It would not surprise me if someone out there were cloning airguns now too- they can jam together $5.00 worth of parts and sell it for $50.00 and they "only" have to steal both design and the name of someone else to do it. Sounds pretty typical these days to me. Hopefully if this is the case, NAFTA can do something besides remove jobs from the US and Canada and send them to Mexico- i.e. allow for severe punishment of criminals stealing intellectual and trademark property. |

I have heard of Crosman having bad .22 barrel batches... Mostly the run was on 2260 24" barrels... Just slightly over sized and the pellets would fall right through... even with the rifling...
That was some time ago... |
