I know these are built in China. I know these tend to be hated but it fit in my budget at the time I bought it and out of the selection available at the stores in the area I had access to was the best bet. It doesn't shot that bad. Fairly accurate figure it will fall in once broke in since it has less then 50 pellets through it. I wanted a springer for the ease of loading. My pumps where at my house 700 miles away along with my other guns.
Now what I hope you can help me with are some tuning tips for these. Again I know almost all of you hate them but I own it and just for that reason I will make parts if need be to get this thing shooting better. Probably won't buy a more expensive gun because then I have my others toys to shot that are in the higher price range. I do hunt birds, squirrels and rabbits. This thing shouldn't be an issue with it being a .177 since I have a ton of pellets that I will eventually figure out what it likes when it breaks in.
Finally I don't expect it to shoot like a top dollar gun just ways to polish a turd so it stinks better lol. |

You don't have to apologize for the gun - if it does the job you intended, then it's perfect. The people on this forum own a whole range of equipment, but they're not elitist about it.
If it were my gun, these things would be first on my list:
1. Polish the muzzle crown. All it takes is an electric drill, a brass screw, and some abrasive compound (lapping compound, automotive rubbing compound, etc.). It pays dividends, it's not hard to do, and it's pretty hard to mess up.
2. Make a spring compressor and go inside the gun. Polish the spring ends. Maybe add a few washers. Re-lube. This is a little more complicated, but doesn't require anything you can't find at a hardware store.
3. De-burr and smooth the trigger parts. (Personally, I'm partial to trigger shoes too.)
The nice thing about this forum is that people are more than willing to help. If you look at the threads for my two projects this year (the Hakim and the G1) you'll see that people had suggestions at each step of the way. We can walk you through anything you want to try.
Welcome to the forum, and keep us posted. |
