Hi...have been playing around with the engine in one of the
B11..never liked the 2 peice spring guide use in most guns
no control of the centre section of the spring.
So I have gone to a firm fitting one peice guide so that as much as possable spring force is transfered to the piston by not useing spring power up by twang/vibration in the uncontroled centre section of the
spring witch should also have a big pay off in smothness.
and the hole new system is 5 grams lighter than the standard set up.
The new tophat/guide runs though a nylon bush at the back of the chamber & the spring also rotates against the face of the same bush.
I had to put the piston on a mauger diet to make up for the extra
weight of the guide the piston only has tention load on it when cock.

New guide/light piston

Std set up

Hi...broom, Its all to do with the 2nd energy wave that a spring produces
witch travels back down the spring when this wave gets to the centre unsurported section of the spring in a standard 2 peice guide system.
the energy fineds it easyer to disapate at this point by changeing its form
to vibration and sound waves "the twange sound that you here in some guns" With the one peice guide this energy change is reduced and the energy travels up & down the spring till it has been spent.
A jack in the box bounces around because the spring energy is looking for a release "but they use a large Dia fine wire spring with is inheritly unstable anyway.

I got it togeather today no stock on it yet "needs to be modded yet"
put 2 pellets though it.....Really smooth very little recoil & side cant"twist"
Standard they cant/twist quite hard to the right.
The sound was just one crisp crack then nothing.

Its light years better than the standard B11..mine you the B11 is not
a very well mannered at the best of time. So was very easy to make a big improvement to.

Do you have a photo of it completely assembled (with the end
plug installed)? Maybe a couple of it cocked and uncocked?

Oh, now I get it I think. It's a springguide on the outside of the spring?

Here's the spring and new guide the guide was shortened from what you see in this pic. The only thing you can see when to gun is assembled
is the guide cover/end plug combo that sticks out the back of the chamber.
The guide is not visable in either the cocked or uncocked position

I think what people are having trouble with Kanyon is where does the extra length on the spring guide go when cocked, not being familiar with the B11 it does look like the spare will come out of the rear of the receiver, I know I have got it wrong but I’m not sure how?

Maybe a photo of the new assembly alongside the complete receiver and barrel would clear things up.

Al Question

Hi..yes the guide dose stick out the back of the chamber when
cocked but there is a stainless steel cover 95mm long that is part of the rear plug so when cocked the guides sldes up in side it there is a nylon bush at the spring end of the cover/plug for the guide to slide though.
theonly diffrets to look at over a standard B11 is the 95mm long
stainless tube on the back of the chamber.
in the pic you can see the guide in the spring then a end cap for the spring
so it applys it load over the whole face of the bush witch is pressed in the
end plug and off that is the 3/4" stainless steel tube to cover the guide when in the cocked postion

Hi..Here it is finished.
I would say the recoil is at least half of that of a standard B11.
No cant "twist that I can detect "but there will be some"
Testing with a standard B11 shot for shot one thing that i did not exspect
is the FPS seems to have incressed aswell test shooting over 40 metres at
a bit of roofing iron the elasped time between fireing and impact sound
is less with the one peice guide gun over the standard B11.
the standard guns puts a decent size dent in the iron where the moded one goes through.
So its carrying more energy at impact and with the same pellets it has to have a higher fps to carry more energy at impact.
I was after a smother gun to shoot and I really got that but it looks
i got a higher fps aswell.
wish I had a crony to verifi it.
One things for sure it won't be the last one I do.
Testing done with .22 Winchester dome pellets

Ps... U can see the new one peice guide in the end of the cover tube

guide when uncocked

Guide when uncocked

Does the end remain open or is there a dust cover?

There will be a plastic plug , One of those get round to it job Rolling Eyes
At first I turned up a alloy cover but tossed it as there was not enough
metal left to retain the screws after it was bored for the guide bush.
then made a quick stainless steel unit. got to do something with the 2 retaining screws "real ugly"
