anyone care to share their opinions and or experiences with pellets that have graphite coatings? my wife went shopping yesterday without me (ugh!)
her heart was in the right place, she stopped off at the sporting goods store and bought me some targets and some .22 Daisy Precision Max wadcutters, i have read a few reviews... and have noticed that these arent the only pellets being sold that have a coating. curious if these coatings foul barrels at all?

I haven't had any problems with Daisy pellets, other than the 'coating' getting on my fingers, but a l'il soap and water takes care of that. Cool

Some manufactures use graphite as a parting agent & mold lubricant. So far, I haven't had a problem with it, but I use trimmer cord to pull a patch dampened w/ goo gone followed with dry about every 100 shots except when using Crosman Premiers and RWS, then pull a dampened patch at the 350-400 point. The latter pellets seem to be cleaner to start with, but the next order might be different.
If you have a Chrony, a guy could check for change in both speed and/or accuracy.
I realize this is not a definative answer, but I don't think there is one cause no two barrels seem to be the same. Part of the fun I have with air gunning is the relatively inexpensive experimenting to see what each of my toys likes best.

The Daisy pellet is coated with Graphite, You'll see alot of different lube's being used by pellet manufacturer's, some use a "Dry" coating(Krytech or a similar wax product)like Kovohute Diabolo Boxer's, and some use a "Wet" lube like Napier. Personally, I make my own lube that I use on my pellet's, and barrel,,and YES!, It doe's make a difference. Since I've started lubing my pellet's and barrel(a couple drop's on a pull-through before each shooting session), I've definately noticed an improvement in M/V, and distance. I've also tried lubeing pellet's with Graphite, but it is a messy process, and I didn't notice any improvement over my own lube,,I'll try and post an article I read on lubeing pellet's,,I just have to remember where I seen it,LOL, Cheer's, Andy.

Beeman Kodiaks here and I lightly coat them with Kry-Tech. Works great for me. In a PCP lube is needed.

Kodiaks are one of my favorites too, but I use 99% isopropyl alcohol
to remove the waxy coating. You don't want to use 70% as it
contains almost 30% water. The coating turns the alcohol a cool
looking light blue color. If I shoot them in my ported, gas Patriot
without first removing the coating, it diesels.

For all of you "Kodiak" user's,,P/A has some New Beeman pellet's in,,They're Copper-Coated, and if they're anything like the H&N Coppa-Point's I use religiously, they'll be well worth trying out. Cheer's, Andy.
