Hi there...

i realy appriciate if anyone owns "Gamo Hunter Extreme" and sends me its real claims ...i know Gamo website has its own exaggeration method, They use ultra-light weight pellets to get those inflated fps numbers.

So i want to know real(chrono) : Fps/fpe/accuracy and reliability of this brand..

thanks @all..

Go for a proper brand. Overall feel of Weihrauch and Diana is much better, and will do the job just fine. A rifle in real life always look a ton better too.

The gamo hunter extreme will realistically push .177 cal LEAD pellets at 1100 fps, give or take a little depending on heavy or light lead pellets.

The questio is, do you really want a pellet to go that fast?

Also, with the stuff Gamo uses, plenty of TWANG, allthough most rifles have this. Twang is pretty personal though. I'd like to hear a rather dry "tchock". Gamos, for as far as I know and encuntered, all make a Tchwoing kind of twang.

And then the super sonic "Crack" when it breaks the sound barrier. I love my lower powered springers because they sound nothing like guns.

Almost forgot to mention that Roger. It seems like we'd be recommending this guy something else, huh?

I don't know what their .22 does. I'm sure that both calibers are pretty powerful and accurate, but given the $400+ price tag, they should be!

Go for the .22. Nobody needs or wants an overpowered .177. Wink

Yeah, but the .177 shoots at 15,000 fps!

That's exactly why one would want the .22. Mr. Green

The velocity in .177 with lead pellets is as mentioned above--and breaking the sound barrier like that can affect accuracy. But, like with the RWS 350, you can try one of the heavier .177 pellets and that will bring it down below the SOS. There are 3 good ones to try: Beeman Kodiak, CPH, and JSB Exact Heavy, hoping one of them will be accurate in your rifle--but with 3 to choose from, you stand a decent chance.

The problem with many Gamo rifles---this is the one item I know is true about many Gamo models, not sure with the Extreme--the barrels aren't choked. It can detrimentally affect accuracy and cause less smoothness in the shot cycle. Uograding the Gamo trigger, if you ever want to, is a modification--it's an adjustment or (worst case) trigger tune on other brands.

But, you said the Gamo feel is just right for you. Don't let anyone rain on your parade. If you want one, buy one.

thanks Ed Krzynowek...

This brand has .22 calibre , so i will try that if i buy one ..it would be more accurate du to lower velocity and not breaking the sound barrier as u mentioned ,also it retains its energy more on farther hunts.

God dam it guys, Whats wrong with a gamo? I know there are far better guns out there. But there are some real shockers out there aswell.
I have a CFX and a cfx copy With both of them I can drop a bunny out to 50m with White domed pellets. Both guns are as they came from the factory No tune kits, or fangdangle triggers.
IF YER WANT A GAMO BUY ONE, After all its your $$$$

Thanks
K

A Gamo is a nice and affordable starters rifle, but for that money one can own a fine and very good rifle. I have my own reasons to dislike most Gamos. They are: Steel used of lesser quality, their underlevers have a plastic loading port, which I also (dislike about the HW57). Power tends to go down (spring waring out) faster then other rifles. This differs per series.

I only recommend low end Gamos. Anything bigger and more expensive might just as well be a less powerfull but more reliable rifle from another brand.
