I need to quiten the report to be a backyard shooter...........not a SILENCER mind you.............just a legal suppressor or such.
I know they exist legally because I have seen post in the past but have not been able to get any bites when asked.
Right now the gun sounds like a .22 rim fire or .22 magnum in that range being fired.
I would like a nice soft pop so the neighbors won't think I am shooting rim fires when shooting my targets.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Im sorry, but I don't do moderators/shrouds
unless I can meet the person face to face and see
a ATFE permit with my own eyes. It is not
really worth it otherwise.

George Koumbis builds the best suppressors available. The 'hoopla' he hears is explained on the NFA legalities page.
Suppressors for 'fire' don't use the same principle as an 'air pressure reduction bleeder' on an airgun. The BATF ruling that a device that can reduce report by 1db for one shot is where design problems result.
Using perforated PTFE and foam tube can significantly reduce the 'pressure noise' but should be db tested to destruction with the smallest cartridge firearm possible. That would assure compliance to the BATF 'no db reduction for even 1 shot', otherwise a tax stamp and Shooters Depot would be the best bet. |
