I've just had the trigger unit out of my TX to give it a polish, so I thought I would take some photos for anyone else who wants to do the same job.
The tools you need are a hammer, pin punch and fine oil stone, the job is quite easy apart from the two pins that hold the trigger unit into its housing, you will have to tap these out with a punch, everything should come apart with very little effort, watch out for the safety button spring make sure you do not lose it. And don't forget to re-lube it afterwards.
Make sure you lube everything up before re-assembly, and you should have a very smooth trigger especially in the second stage.
Have Fun

That is a sweet looking trigger group. Very
simple with few moving parts, both stages
adjustable, no radial (scissors type)
springs only linear and the weight is adjustable
affecting both stages.
Does that belong to the bottom
gun in your signature photo?

Hi CW
The original design for this trigger was by Weihrauch for there HC air rifles and they called it the Reckord trigger, the basic design was copied by Air Arms and they called it the CD trigger.
Reckord/CD, get it! I think AA were taking the pi$$.
But it is a nice trigger.

Ah, a Reckord. Those are nice. I believe that's
what was in an old R11 I had years ago. It had
a very nice feel to it. After getting used to it most
other triggers would feel rough and vague to me.

Yes it does I bought it new 3 months so I'm slowly working my way through it, I gave it a lube job a while back, which made an improvement, but now I'm waiting for some James Maccari lubes from the States, to give them a try.
Theres some more photos here:

Ahh! I always look forward to these guides of yours Al, Very well presented! That's a very solid looking trigger mechanism there too!
Nice one!

Say Al, is the TX somewhat of an Air Arms answer to Weihrauch? |

Hey, Al,
When you put the trigger unit back into its housing, do you usually cock the trigger or leave it uncocked before installing the safety pin? Thanks.

Hi Alan
Just put the safety pin in the housing and hold the button in, insert the trigger unit uncocked, then replace the holding pins.
A polish makes the second stage very smooth.

I'm beginning to like them a bit more. Not because YOU own one though.
And my spring gun days for now are over. It's going to take at least one or two years before mum n did allow me to buy something new.
I got a darn collection! |

I have 3 HW guns and all with Rekord triggers! When I go to shoot my 850 it is like night and day. The 850 is not that bad as Roald did a trigger job on it when he tuned my action. Love HW's and Rekord triggers! One nice thing about them is the hole in the housing that lets you see the sear engagement in action so you can adjust it to a hair if you like! But don't do it on hard kickers like R1's , that is the major problem with being unable to cock that gun sometimes; the sear reengages it self from the recoil and the gun won't cock. Ask me how I know! hahaha And thanks for the tutorial Al, we need more men like you in this sport! You get an A+ and get to go to lunch early! |

I think we all reach that point when playing around with triggers Cliff, It's the only way to learn.
Thanks for the comments.
