Okay folks, it will take me a while to save up, but can you think of anything else besides custom grips that a 3-d printer would be good for? I am building one for my other major hobby which is robotics, and I figure it might be useful in airgunning. Any ideas y'all might have?

I would expect any items that arenot under alot of strain- i.e. open sights, muzzle brakes, cosmetic items.

What does a decent 3d printer cost these days?

Well, the kit I am looking at is about 255 with all the electronics, and mechanical parts. The frame I make myself out of aluminum angle and c channel.it doesn't have to be strong, but it does have to be extremely rigid. The kit I want is good down to.020 mm. I am told with proper tuning after being broken in, it's possible to get down to .008 mm. It will print up to 10 x 10 x 8 inches. That is expandable to 20 x 10 x 12. It will be something fun to learn anyway.

They are becoming more common for producing parts for airguns such as suppressor baffles, single shot trays or pellet hopper/feeders....

There are already extensive use of FDM printing in airguns. It started small - suppressors, barrel bands, flashlight adapters. But by now there are examples of a whole 3d printed airguns (except for the barrel, hi-pressure reservoir and valve, of course).

Some sample images

Pretty handy gizmo once a fellow learns how to use it. There is at least one fellow selling 3d printed barrel bands for 13xx, and there was a fellow on the CAF that produced a manual indexing magazine setup for Crosman steel breeches/QB78 for a little while.
