1) Target to download and print: Week 26; Mar/03/2008>Mar/09/2008
Print to full-size on an A4 or 8.5"x11" sheet of paper.
2) Shooting distance is 5m/16.4ft for pistols.
3) Shooting distance is 10m/32.8ft for rifles.
4) Any sighting device may be used.
5) NO rests or steadying aids are allowed.
6) 30 shots at the targets, 1 per ring maximum.
5 sighting/practice shots not on the clock using another print of the target.
7) 15 minutes total time (take whatever amount of time for each shot you like, but at 15 minutes-stop!).
8) Scoring is 5 points for green, 1 point for black, and no points for white.
Touching the edge of a colour counts for points. Only one hit per ring counts. Maximum point count is 150.
9) Scan or photograph entries to be posted. Please list gun, pellet, sighting device and total time expended.
10) You can enter using both a pistol and a rifle as separate entries- but all rules must be followed for each.
11) Score your own target. Winner and Runner-Up will be verified by board officials.
12) This is an honorable contest for sport- if you lie or cheat, you are the only one who really loses. Please keep it above-board!
13) Each competition runs from Monday to Sunday. Your entry must be posted in the forum no later than 23:00 GMT Sunday.
14) These rules are for this week's shooting competition and may change for others. |

OMG
Starring at that target makes my eyes flip out! And there's no nice duckies that will give you points on the outside.
Last night's practice; 21
The only answer; don't look at the target - front sight, front sight, front sight,... |

I thought I was doing good until I saw Alstone's target. Lots of hits, not many green spots
Steyr LP1, RWS pellets, 5 meters, one hand, 12 minutes, Score 59.

Well I think my time shooting this pistol down in my suite might soon be limited as the upper might be getting rented soon. I may just look for another place anyway.
So it looks like I can't beat the top contenders with the pistol.
Pistol: Custom 2240
Pellet: Crosman .22 wadcutter
Distance/Stance: 5m/ 2 hand hold
Time: 10 min
Score 51

I should have used a shotgun instead of the rifle this round.
Scored a 38 shooting a HW30s. I may try this target again with a different rifle just for the heck of it.

LOL
It seems I can shoot lots better when it is just 'practice'. When I shoot for a 'score' it all goes down the drain. Same when I show up for a match. I just can't seem to get past the stigma of competition and just shoot. Yes, I know, it sounds like a personal problem. |
