Hi Guys I have been thinking about this cock on open for qb78d22 and other than it would be easier to adjust the power what other benefits does this bring to the rifle and how hard is it to do.
I have decided to check this out a bit more. Costs involved, do I have to get a different Hammer or just drill the one I've got? Is there a kit for this mod? Most important for me anyway how does it work haven't figured that out in my head yet. Is it just relocating the pin that makes it work. Any Vidioes I can watch to see what needs to be done. Any help on this would be great.
Thanks |

Benefit...being able to better "feel" the forces involved as the pellet is chambered. Resistance, catching etc.
In essence, you remove the rear pin, shim that block to load the spring as desired. When I tried it the first time, I used a stack of washers from the local hardware store...pretty darn inexpensive.
Pulling back on the bolt now compresses the striker spring...cocking is now the same as the 22xx/13xx.
Downside...you lose loading room.
Can make a new striker with a relocated sear catch to regain lost loading room. This will also increase the stroke...can add a "nose" or move the pin to reduce the stroke if high power is not the goal.
