Caveat... under $400 Mr. Green

I've just started shooting, first gun was a gamo whisper. Beginners mistake, I was going for stated power only. A friend has a beeman HW77. Seems superior by far. Anyway what was the best rifle you shot. (Read most accurate).

My Airmagnum is fairly accurate, for a .22. Said that, I never did any groupings on the darn thing. Mr. Green

Diana 52, painballs aren't safe at 70m if I'm braced against something or on a bench.

I used to have a tuned R11 .177 cal. that was very impressive
at 50 yards, but I used it for partial trade for a HK model
91 in .308 caliber. It has turned out to be my favorite deer stalker.

If it's a completely windless day, it's no problem hitting
1-litre plastic soda bottles with 29 grain Eun Jins shooting off of a
bench at 150 yards with my .22 Condor. My freind Mike, an
ex-Navy Seal can hit them at 200 yards with my Condor. But then
again he has a .50 cal. target rifle that shoots sintered bronze projectiles (lead will not work because of the tremendous heat and pressure generated) that he competes at 1000 and 1500 yards with.
It makes me feel safe knowing we have thousands of people like him protecting us.

Needless to say, one deffinitely needs an anti-cant (gun level)
to accomplish this as 6 degrees of rifle cant can move the point
of impact 2-3 inches at 100 yards. More as the distance increases.

Sorry.

I didn't see the under $400 at first. My advise would
be to do without for a while and save up another $400
and then purchase a high end gun and some quality
glass. It is amazing what can be accomplished with such
equipment. It will be a more fulfilling and enjoyable experience
and you will be very pleased with the result.

Just my opinion. Good luck and have fun with your choice.

Hand's Down, It was a "Daisy PowerLine TargetPro 953", One-Holer's all day long,,,I was so bored getting bullseye's all the time, I sold it,LOL, Cheer's, Andy.

Hi Guy's,
i owned a Diana 48 that i bought used back in 1997 for $300. from a gun shop. Very powerful and very accurate right hand side pull in .177cal. I no longer have this airgun anymore though but would like to buy another one if possible around the same build time as the one i owned. It was made in Germany, i don't think that the ones today are built there anymore though

Diana rifles are still built in Germany, just that now Umarex instead of RWS imports them to North America . . .

Now I have over $400 in the gun with accessories but the base price of the gun was $200.00 and after about $85 in a Maccari tune; Leapers scope; Beeman muzzlebrake; Accushot 1 piece mount and you have a $400 gun.

Here she is and I have it sighted at roughly 37-40 yards with JSB Exact Heavies.

My Daisy Avanti 853c with a 4x32 scope on it.

This target was shot from 33 feet in a sitting position indoor.

I've only put about 60 rounds through it so far, and that means it's not quite worked in yet, but I just got a gamo (ya, I know, who'd a'thought it, a Gamo) Stutzen that's already keeping them all in the 10 ring a 25 yards, all holes touching. I'll update later when i've had time to work it in with a few hundred rounds. So far it's an accurate gun, and the only Gamo I own. I've got a Webley .25 (older Stingray made in England) that I would go with before that, if you really take your time.

FX Tarantula 50yds 3/8inch groups .22, 5 shot groups. Very Happy

A Marksman 1010 pistol I owned a few years ago. It was absolutely, positively going to miss the target with 100% repeatability. No hold sensitivity, no temperature variability, just good solid misses day in and day out. A trusted friend.

To actually hit something, my favorite is the Slavia 631.

A lot of junior shooters in Europe, especially the Slavia's homeland, learn to shoot with a Slavia with a diopter. Adapters to fit it on the end and rear of the barrel have to be home made though...

My R7 in 177 cl, shoots any pellet in one hole at 10 yds. My old 1322 Crosman in 22 cal. Won a lot of informal 10m shoots with that baby! Too bad it vanished! Another one holer! Death to birds out to 30yds!
