1) Target to download and print: Week 25; Feb/25/2008>Mar/02/2008

Print to full-size on an A4 or 8.5"x11" sheet of paper.
2) Shooting distance is 5m/16.4ft for pistols.
3) Shooting distance is 10m/32.8ft for rifles.
4) Any sighting device may be used.
5) NO rests or steadying aids are allowed.
6) 27 shots at the targets, 3 per duck maximum.
5 sighting/practice shots not on the clock using another print of the target.
7) 15 minutes total time (take whatever amount of time for each shot you like, but at 15 minutes-stop!).
8) Scoring is 5 points for black, 2 points for red, 1 point for yellow, SUBTRACT 1 point for blue and no points for white.
Touching the edge of a colour counts for points. Only three hits per duck counts. Maximum point count is 135.
9) Scan or photograph entries to be posted. Please list gun, pellet, sighting device and total time expended.
10) You can enter using both a pistol and a rifle as separate entries- but all rules must be followed for each.
11) Score your own target. Winner and Runner-Up will be verified by board officials.
12) This is an honorable contest for sport- if you lie or cheat, you are the only one who really loses. Please keep it above-board!

Mar,

This target looks rough!

I looked at your target and those are some great shots!

I think it is just really easy to miss a "5" by a hair and get 2's and 1's. At least that is the story of my life! Shocked

Great shooting! It is a deceptively difficult target! Crying or Very sad

Hey john I felt pretty focus and steady but yeah I was pretty surprised myself at some of those groups. That 2240 seems to shoot better the more I shoot it, I'm very happy with that pistol.

Now I'm sure the rifle shoot will be a different story.

Mar- I hate to be the one to point this out- but look at your target- the middle duck only scores 5 points (2 red, one yellow) and the first duck on the last line has a score of 4 points (1 red, 2 yellow)- making the total 63/135. Yikes! doh!

Thanks Eric, I rechecked and you are correct about the bottom left one, it's not quite touching.so a 4 for that.

However the middle one is correct as you can see in this picture with a pellet in the hole. What do you think?

The pellet picture is skewed- looking at the complete target you can see red between the pellet hole(s) and the black dot. One thing to remember is that the pellet skirt is slightly wider than the head- and anything but dead straight-on with the head centered completely in the hole is going to make things look different. Turn the pellet around and put the skirt in the hole and let it rest on a table or something else totally flat and see what it looks like.

One more time, two pictures, one with the EZE-Scorer and one with the pellet facing up. What do you think now? LOL!

It can be hard to score these targets where the paper is not top quality.

I suprised myself on this target. I hit better than I thought, perhaps because the red was easy to see.
Steypr LP1, RWS pellets, 5 meters, one hand, 12 minutes, 90/135.

Thanks for the welcomes. Smile

Thx to Alstone for the tips on downloading targets - they're much bigger now. Wink I also measured my 'range' and was able to move closer by 2½ feet. Cool

But still out of the running - for practice 69 & 50. For score 59.

Crosman 2300T @ 5M, Crosman Premier Wadcutter 7.9gr, open sights, one-handed.

The very first post in this thread. Click on the "Click to Enlarge"- load it, then right click on the picture, "Save As..." save it, then print it (make sure you click"fit to page" on the print menu).

well you can also do that and you can also increase the percentage size to fit the size. That way it will fit better.

Time 11 minutes
Wepon QB78 .177 Co2

The bottom row would have been better if I hadn't got Lucy pulling on my jean bottoms, wanting to go for her afternoon walk. Smile

The blue is the result of holding to long and not letting it down and starting over.

Pistol; Pardini K58, open sights
5 m, standing, two hands
pellets; RWS
Time 11min.

56/135
