I am new to these forums so if I make mistakes in form, let me know and I will correct.

I have recently discovered, in my attic, my long forgotten Benjamin Franklin model 137 cal .177 pellet air pistol, serial number B 42826. It looks to be in good working order save for the missing "Link Hinge Pin part# 1314". This information I got from the "Benjamin 130_132_137 Exploded View, Parts List, Instructions" sheet from this web site. Is this a case of replacing like-for-like or will I be able to make do with any pin that will fit, gotten from my local hardware store? In the event that I need this and other parts, from where would I get them?
Also, as one would imagine, it needs a good cleaning (I can do that), and I would do well to get it re-finished (blue). Suggestions?

Thanks,

alan

You can use a generic part if it will fit for the hinge pin- just try to use the hardest piece you can find- on a hinge the potential for bending is always there.

Beyond that, you may be able to obtain seals from vendors, but 'hard' parts (i.e. steel and plastic bits) may only be available in the used market, depending on what you might need.

Thanks for the reply. I think I will leave it up to the pros. I have sent it to a gunsmith that specializes on Crosman air firearms. I'll leave it up to his expertise.

Again, thanks,

alan
