I have a Crosman Nitro Venom .22 with a Hammers AO scope. I can't get the gun zeroed because there is not enough adjustment to the left. It's hitting about 5" to the right of center. I have already bought new mount rings and tried turning them around and swapping them front to back. Any suggestions?

You may have to shim the fixed side of the dovetail clamp either front or back mount depends on which side the screw is on.

There could be several thing that could cause your problem, the first is that that the barrel is not inline with the rifle body (it could be bent or needs re-crowning), if the scope mount is screwed on to the rifle body it may be out of line. Or it could be the scope.
Try screwing the wind age adjuster all the way in then screw it all the way out, and count the turns needed to go from one end to the other divide by 2 and screw it back that number of turns this should centre the scope, you could also do the same with the elevation adjuster. This will at least sort the scope out provided the internals are ok.

Or as Garth suggests shim the dovetail.

Al

Thanks for the info guys. A little shimming and centering the scope and now it is zeroed in. Five shot group in one hole at 20 yrds.
