Thanks for all the neat replies, very useful.
I'm just addicted to shooting and accuracy is primo to me.
I'm looking into the P17 and would be be surpsrised if I didn't order it tonight from Pyramyd Air. Wink Wink

Well do the simple steps we told you and I'm sure you will love it.look at all the reviews on p.a.I'd say its a 90% positive .we know a bad 1 will happed and I've had a few bad things but my p 17 showed decent build and quality from china.best of luck to you sir

I did indeed order it. For a few pennies shy of $30 bucks I could not pass on this P17 especially after you fine fellows recommended it so highly.
What pels do you find work well with this pistol?
I have a lot of different brands & wieghts of .177 pels and only 1 a.g. in that caliber.
I also ordered more JSB and H&N pels in .22 for my rifles.

Mine does well with about any pellet but daisy.cphp and rws superdomes are dead on in mine

Mine isn't pellet picky, either. I keep Crosman Premier hollow points in the case with the gun. It's the gun I take travelling, and the CPHP's are available at just about any Walmart.

Red dot, light, bi-pod, & what is the gizmo where the hammer would be?
A cocking aid?
What do you shoot with it, targets, plink?

I replaced the rear sight with a bubble level, and the "hammer" does indeed have extensions. I use it mostly for plinking - it kind of evolved over several years. It's comfortable to shoot, but nearly impossible to holster. Your factory-fresh model will shoot just as straight.

when I polished my piston,beveled the edge of the piston.cocking was a lot easier.i have yet to adjust the trigger,factory setting is real good the way it is
