I have a Salavia 622 that I have had for about 50+ years. I want to get it cleaned up and working better for my grandson. I have to believe that after all this time it needs new piston seals. It is shooting at 215 FPS. What speed should it be shooting at???? Where can I find parts for this rifle? As far as I know all I need would be new seals.

The rifle probably has a leather piston seal.Try a few drops of silicone oil in the port in the breech and let it set muzzle up overnight,

There is a guy here that goes by the handle Slavia.

He should be able to field your inquiries better than most.

Here is a source that suggests the 622 should be getting high 200's:
http://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2009/05/knowing-what-to-do-part-1/

Here is a source that says the 622 is similar to the 617/618/619/624/627:
http://www.vzduchovka.cz/dokumentace/list_of_documents.html

And the 618 schematic:

It looks like the breech seal is an "O" ring. It's hard to say about the piston seal without seeing it. Both leather and synthetic (plastic) seals were in use during that era. If it were mine I would disassemble it to be sure. For safety's sake I would suggest making a spring compressor, although with that power level it might not even be necessary.

If it has a leather seal that's still intact (i.e., not dry and crumbly) a little oil could restore it. I would use plain 30w non-detergent motor oil - with that power level I wouldn't be worried about detonation from dieseling.

If the piston seal is plastic it's going to be tougher. CZ-USA probably won't be much help, so I would contact CZ-Uhersky Brod in the Czech Republic:
http://www.czub.cz/en/contact/122-contact.aspx

Here is a guy that sells seals for other guns that might be adapted:
http://www.airrifleheadquarters.com/page/page/251485.htm

And a blog article about re-sealing the 618:

So, no definite answer - but maybe enough to get you started.
