I called P.A. told the story about the new Beeman p-17 not working at all and mentioned it took 6 business day to get to me & I'm only some 60 miles from where they are.
The looked up my order number.
I said I'd like to BUY another P-17, keep the broken one to see if I can make it work etc.
So the P.A. person said "keep the original gun, we will send you a new one tomorrow, you will have it two shipping days from tomorrow, tinker with the original for parts or to learn on.
WOW.
What a great place to deal with.
By the by, here is a link if you tinkerer types don't already have it that has schematics and "how to" on many, many a.g. products.

PA knows they have a bad batch of them- thus why they don't care about shipping a replacement for free. |

I tinkered with the broken first P-17 and got it working so now I
have two P17 shooters
The new one is perhaps a tad more accurate, got a 5 shot group
at 24 feet with a rest just under half inch with Crosman pointed
pels.
Pointed pels load much easier than domed and wadcutters are almost
impossible to ger seated.
Wonder would the .177 P17 kill a rabbit with a brainer shot?
Rabbits are easy to dispatch. I've taken them with body hits, lungs, with an old worn out Gamo that probably isn't giving 500 f.p.s.
They are hard on my garden and ate a whole row of my green beans.
The Gamo .177 still puts a pel through and through a rabbit.
I have a new Whisper that is accurate and gives me a bit over 800 f.p.s.
with CPHP .177s.
It takes fox squirrels but a brain shot only. Body shots won't drop them, they take the hit and run off sometimes stopping on a limb giving a quick second shot. |

Don't know about the clean kill, but after you get used to loading it cphp loads fine.best part of the p 17 simple orings to rebuild you can get at a good auto parts store.glad you got the 1 working and then other works great.best dang pistol for the money ever.I was shocked at how nice they are and for so low a price. |
