I have had the Nitro Venom Dusk .177 for about 2 months now, and I am still having a little trouble sighting it in. Resting, I can get about 1 1/2" group at 10 Yards. Am I expecting to much from his gun, or is there something I can do to improve the accuracy.

You have something seriously wrong with that gun, you should get 6mm groups at least. What are you resting it on? Try a cushion or something like that, also check all the screws are tight in particular the ones fastening the stock to the action. You could also try different pellets and holding the gun very loosely.

i was gonna say... i got my nitro venom sighted in within the first 100 shots... technically not even broken in at the time! now, after maybe 150-200 shots, i can consistently hit the same hole from 20 yards away. great gun!

also, as for the scope mounts, i have the mounts spread apart as far away from each other as possible... theoretically it should hold a steadier zero after recoil and shock from transportation. 2cents

well congrats on the gun! i know its badass Cool

I put washers in between the screws and the wood on my storm. They stay tight longer.I also put a toothed washer between my flat washer and the screw. It seems to really hold well. I haven't had to tighten them up in weeks.

I don't have the venom, I have the .22 Titan GP. I use crosman premier hollowpoints and it will stack them on top of each other at 10 meters.

I actually found out it wasn't me. Faulty Crown. I need to send it back and get it repaired, or get a new one.

You may want to consider just doing it yourself. You'll end up with a far better result than any factory crown.

It would be even better if anyone in your family knows someone with access to a lathe. It literally takes 5 minutes to put a high quality crown on.

well you will need two screw drivers to disassemble the barrel from the gun. After that a block of wood and a hammer to knock off the plastic muzzle shroud.

Get an adult to give you a hand with the pivot bolt because occasionally they can be really tight.

A local machine shop probably wouldnt even charge you if you went in yourself and asked them to face the end of the barrel. It's a two minute job for them.

After that just follow the brass screw technique posted on this site. all you need is a screw and something as simple as white toothpaste

or..... If you have access to a hand drill you don't even need to remove the barrel from the gun.
