my neighbor croos the street from me told me about 2 years ago when we were seeing more and more squirrels and rabbits that the skunks were next and he was right. my dog killed 4 of them last summer in the back yard. i still cant figure out how they get in there but he doesnt let them live long enough to get out ,my next door neighbors 2 dogs each got sprayed twice in one week and all of the lawns on my street are getting torn up from the little bast*rds routing in them.i dont shoot the squirrels i dont shoot the rabbits ,the cats that are around seem to do a pretty good job with the mice ,i have some pretty thick woods across the street from me so i know they eat pretty well. the only animals i really have a problem with are the black and white critters and i think i have pretty good reason for it

Where I live (for the time being) we're not too far from a "wood lot", but we're in Nashville proper. There are raccoons, rabbits squirrels, foxes and deer there in a small lot. We also have coyotes moving in. Animals are more and more learning to live in populated areas.

i live on a small no outlet street thats between an appartment complex behind me and about 100 plus acres of woods across the street from me some evenings i can sit on my front step and see the deer walk thru the woods.my three year old son loves it. i actually bought my gamo riflle a few years ago when we having problems with rats from the apartments their dumpsters were right behind my fence and i started seeing them in my yard i made sure to buy something that packed enough punch to take them with one shot without the pumping or co2 cartridges like i had when i was a kid

I didn't mean for anyone to think I did not have a valid reason. I take care of a farm. THis farm has a lot of feral cats. Most of the time it's they stay to themselves and I stay to myself. But around this time of year is when the toms will start killing younger, smaller cats so that they don't have to compete with them for food. The toms are only being removed so that 1 I don
't get more cats. 2 I don't have to clean up qa whole dead litter od kittens.

I pointed out that as much as killing cats bothers me, I didn't say anything when feral cats were mentioned . I only spoke up

PLEASE TAKE NOTE I SAID, I ONLY SPOKE UP AFTER, THAT'S AFTER

The post that said: the only good cat is a dead cat. I understand that sometimes cats over populate. I have neighbors who don't fix their cats and our street is over populated. I feed them instead of shooting them, but there aren't that many around here that they make a mess, I realize that they can leave a mess etc. in places. I was not commenting on farm care, I was saying that a post that can be construed as saying (AGAIN) "the only good cat is a dead cat" gives our critics an excuse to scream we are crazy pet killers.

Again : I didn't respond top the post on feral cats

Is it all clear now?

Paladin,

I couldn't agree with you more. And I do believe most of the folks (regulars) also agree with your comment. It's that small marginal group of people, as you mentioned that believe "the only good cat is a dead one" or "dogs are so stupid, they must be shown how to die"don't just make us airgunners look bad, but IMHO make ALL human beings look bad.

It makes me wonder just much longer mother nature will continue to allow this to happen before saying "enough!!" and releasing her wrath upon the planet ridding it of us humans.
