I am looking t buy a sub $200 rifle for plicking and some squirl hunting.
I have been looking at the big cat and just might think about ordering one with the gas ram install, I know that is just over the $200 mark but I think I can spare the extra $30
Which rifle for under $200 is the most accurate and best buy? |

Not sure where you're at, but I was at Dick's today and they have Benjamin Discovery's in .177 cal with pump on sale for $329. I'd jumped on the deal myself, but I want the .22 verison. |

I have a Gamo Big Cat and on the whole am satisfied with it. Accuracy is decent, although with only about 700 rounds through it I'm hoping that will still improve a bit. The bundled scope is mediocre, and will be replaced when the funds become available, but it is usable. The stock trigger is garbage, so an upgrade to a GRT III, or similar, is mandatory and is another $35 USD. Mine is the steel spring, so I can't speak to the gas ram, but I don't think I would bother with changing over. YMMV. |

My budget just increased to $300 and I am looking hard at the Crosman NPSS
I am hooked on the gas strut over a spring because I intend on using it for squirel hunting and like the idea of being able to sit with the rifle ready to fire
anybody have experience with the accuracy of this rifle? |

I gas rammed my Big Cat and would never go back to the spring version. |

I'd only go for an adjustable Gas Ram... |

If the NPSS is half as good as the Remington Genesis..
It will be a great gun...
The NPSS is a Remington Genesis fitted with a gas ram
and a carbon look a like coating on the stock...
Wonder how it shoots Crosman accupels..mine loves them..

Well the big brown truck dropped off my NPSS Wednesday
I haven't gotten to really give it a work out.
Last night I started to zero it in and got it hitting close. It is kind of hard to do much shooting by flashlight
but resting from a bench without any bags just holding by hand I was able to get 1" groups!
can't wait to see what it can do when it is broke in and resting from a bag! |
