Pics? Of the trigger group and action.
All parts you filed, with specifications on how much. |

Take a trip back to wally world.
Us (forum members) usually deal with higher quality, or more popular airguns. Sorry noone else has chimed in yet, but it is unlikely they would know about your rifle(?). |

My best advice: take off a little at a time, try it and take off more if needed. |

You can get parts for Daisy products. Just because some people are apparently sticking their nose up at this concept- ignore them, it's still an airgun. Unfortunately, other than smoothing out triggers and the like, there isn't much to be done with alot of Daisy's- they are the kings of single-stroke-pneumatics which are generally unalterable in respect to power output.
Daisy is in Arkansas. I don't know if you can order parts directly from them or if they will direct you to one of their repair facilities. It won't hurt to ask in any event: http://www.daisy.com |

Please speak only for yourself. Just because WalMart markets a product does not necessarily make it inferior or unpopular.
KSRN:
One approach, would be to make some calls to local welding shops to locate a shop that has a TIG welder and an experienced/skilled operator. A good operator can place a pool of weld not much bigger than the head of a pin.
Once the aforementioned welding shop has been found, take the part to them and thoroughly explain what you need. Make sketches if needed, to convey your needs.
Prior to welding clean the surface to be welded with laquer thinner or alcohol. After cleaning, do not touch it, especially with a pencil. Use of tool steel filler rod may be recommended, based on your tools and capabilities.
Using Crosman140l's advice, work the weld down with small fine-cut file, india stone and/or carbide paper to renew the original factory surface level.
Many airgun trigger group surfaces rarely need much metal removal. Mere polishing of contact surfaces and minimal lubrication with a moly fortified lithium grease, often improves the trigger characteristics a great deal.
Doing a repair rather than a replace may result in greater personal skill and confidence in doing you own airgun work, which I highly recommend.
Go slow and be patient - remember, this is a hobby, not a job.
Best regards,
Amigo |

Are you suggesting he return it as defective merchandise? |

Daisy seeems to be dis-inclined to post their manuals online, or in a a decent digital format. If you contact them, they will likely send you one. |

The Daisy 1000 and the Winchester are made by Hatsan in Turkey. You can't buy individual trigger parts. You can build up the part or parts as mentioned above or look for a Daisy or Winchester 1000 refurb for about $50-70 and scavenge the parts you need.
All the Hatsans have the same basic trigger design which is based on an old single stage Winchester centerfire design. I have a well illustrated Hatsan trigger tune guide in .pdf format. Email me if you want a copy. If you are careful, you can take the trigger down to about 2lbs. before running into safety issues.

Crosman 140: I cannot suggest that someone purchase a product and alter it so the point of malfunctioning, and then return said product as "broken". I can however let it be known that such idea might work in times of desperation, be it possibly illegal or immoral.
EDIT: KS, I do hope you can find a solution. |
