Try oiling the pump cup to see if things get better.

Cap threads and threads in tube were not correctly aligned and the cap was installed, re-threading things in a different orientation causing what you have now.

Bushnell Legends aren't bad and not too expensive (they are also maybe 1.5lbs at the heavier end, many are right around 1lb).

Likely the screw immediately behind your trigger blade is for trigger travel, the one more to the rear is trigger pull- but you may have to find out the hard way.

The Crosman 357-6 is probably the best value for the money in the market. Don't mistake this to be the greatest gun, but for the price it is the best deal.
